Ever try to paint a dark scene and have trouble seeing into the dark areas? Here's something that might help. I've been using this technique for many years. It's helped me alot! Enjoy!
Painted this concept for a friend. She needed a concept of Blade runner like buildings and atmosphere , so here it is. Really glad I got a chance to do some architecture. I think this wil be the first of many to come!
I did this piece originally because I was inspired by the Totoro porject. Then after doing th epiece I realized that I wanted to add my own creature in the scene. I really love this painting as it tells alot about my childhood. So instead of sticking a familiar creature (totoro) I thought I would design my own. In the end I think this is the version I prefer anyways....what do you guys think?
This one I struggled with. I struggled with trying to show more of the ship and hiding it in fog. In the end , I decided that I just wanted to tell the story of these people coming upon this huge ship. I wanted the story to come first. That said I will still paint a frame of when the Battle train was operational. That way , my design won't go to waste!
Ok so I did these quite a long time ago. Maybe 3-4 years ago for a friend. But imagine my surprise when Walle came out. I was like "crap, it looks very simular" but oh well.
